We have just started ripping off the back of this house as we remove the siding. We'll replace all the exterior windows of this home. We're putting up new house wrap and new siding.
We've got a silver-gray in the back and a beautiful blue color that will be in the front of the house and on some of the corner posts.
It's going to look gorgeous when it's done. Of course, we do have a few things to take care of first.
We often talk on our youtube channel about the importance of getting flashing right. As we've removed the siding, we've come across a great example of what it looks like when this is not done correctly. Whoever built this house didn't do their due diligence in setting it up so that water turns to the outside. They had the house wrap in front of the window flange rather than behind.
You can see that this home has already had some rain damage as a result. We'll go as far as we need to correct this problem in the future.
The new windows that we've purchased are going to be full depth. There's going to be a little bit of wood trim on that and then one casing. We're going to have our guys on the outside take these windows and put the new ones in. Then we'll come back to the inside of the house and trim what's going on there.
It looks like it's going to be just gorgeous when it's finished!
This blog is part of a series.
